Why I no Longer Use Windows 7.

I use Windows (7) because the programs I use run under Windows.

BTW no problem, no crash, no BSOD, some bugs in one program but nothing to
do with Windows.

In short: A happy windows user, like 90% of desktop computer users
worldwide!

The Linux advocates all have access to Windows but they will not admit it.

If that is the case, why didn't they filibuster the health care debacle?
they tried

In case you didn't know, it takes more than a simple majority to stop
a fillibuster. Not every republican votes with the same mind; nor does
every democrat.

You sure think in black and white terms. Do you have some insane
notion that all republicans always vote the same and all democrats
always vote the same?

A year and a half is a short time? They could have passed anything they
wanted. Their legislation was blocked or delayed by fellow democrats!
The kings of filibuster were the democrats during 6 of the Bush years.
I don't think is was nearly that long. It took a long time for Obamas
senate seat to be filled. Then Kennedy died. Byrd died. And Kennedys
senate seat was eventually filled by a republican. And the 60 included
an independent.

The secret holds were done by republicans. Check the record. The
filibuster was never used to such an extent until now. The republicans
blocked almost everything, including legislation that they supported.

Of course I have and I know they can be manipulated to tell you just
about anything. Some of my favorites were put out by the tobacco
companies, 9 out of 10 doctors recommend Kools.
So you note that statistics can be misrepresented and skewed to support
a particular claim.
Unlike gravity, the USA could be taken out of the picture.
And then try to boost Linux reported usage by removing a country (in
your opinion) that has a high non-Linux usage from a statistical analysis.

Oh the irony!

there's a middle class left. Had McCain won, you'd see 30% unemployment
now with companies being very, very picky about who they hire and how long
they get to keep their job. Big business like to pick employees and pay
them as little as they can get away with.
That's an interesting rewrite of history.

Republicans don't, but democrats do. I've been watching them sice I
started voting 48 years ago. Although they didn't with the ERA, the
republicans carried it for the democrats that didn't.

Obama hasn't done anything for Main Street or the average American. Half
his administration comes from Goldman Sachs, just like Bush's
administration... and Clinton's administration before him... and Bush Sr's
administration before him. Our real unemployment is close to 20% and Obama
and the Democrats fiddled away on the damned Insurance Corporation
giveaway, which they pretended was "health reform." I guess the insurance
industry got jealous when Bush AND Obama gave Wall Street billions, which
only half tells the story, because they guaranteed trillions of bad
mortgages. A pox on both their houses.

But keep in mind that the congress that gave Bush the TARP funds was the
new democrat majority congress in 2007. COngress is responsible for
spending. That in no way excuses the republican congress of 6 years which
went spend crazy themselves. And it doesn't excuse Bush. At least under
Bush and rep congress we had decent employment and growth numbers. The
housing bubble goes to CLinton and the Redevelopment ACt and the democrats
defending FM and FM.

Yes, it would give a different picture.

What, that most Americans use Windows and are denizens in most of the
net bots that serve us spam?
Not so much that, but more that someone can suggest that statistics cant
be relied upon, then tries (openly) to skew statistics.

You might as well say that "100% of my Linux desktop machines run Linux,
so desktop Linux must obviously have a higher %age of usage then other OS's"

I get tired of the Democrats blaming the Republicans and the Republicans
blaming the Democrats. Same old bullshit. It's a tired old game that lost
my interest decades ago. Just accept the fact that they're all crooked
bastards who sell us out the highest bidders and leave it at that. And
it's been that for years. Probably the closest thing we had to an honest
president in my lifetime was Jimmy Carter. And he happened to be on the
least competent presidents we've had in my lifetime. But I would still
take him in heartbeat over the lying bastards we've had for the last 20
years.

After this total nightmare with W-7, all it's problems and the MS
security crap that I can't get rid of for good... our next PC will be a
MAC. We've had it. >:-(
Enjoy your over-priced, under-powered machine, troll.

And, if that's all you're doing with your computer (and that's all a lot
of people are doing with their computers), then you can install Linux and
not have to worry a about viruses or malware, or the registry getting
corrupted. You're friends would be the perfect candidates for Linux.
No they wouldn't. Since they don't understand computers there is no way
on Earth they could handle Linux has soon as it did something really
weird or require some arcane command line commands to get something
running. Actually a Mac would be better for them. Macs are for people
that don't want to learn computers and just like spending money.

Linutz?
Never heard of it.
Its another one of those Linux distros... there is so many of them I
wouldn't be surprised if one was actually called Linutz.

A troll? Yes. Over-priced? Most definitely. Under-powered?
Debatable. But it's a scenerio I'm seeing more and more.

A friend, who's been using Windows for 20+ years, just replaced his 5
year old Sony Viao notebook (Windows XP) with a 15" Mac notebook after
test driving a friend's for a day. He had been considering W7 machines
up to then. He's so happy with the performance that he's eventually
going to replace his 4 year old Vista desktop with a Mac, too. He said
it's worth the extra money not to have to deal with Windows' "problems."

I kind of agree with you. I always said Carter was incompetent but honest
and sincere. But after watching him make a fool of himself over the last
few years I gave that up. To me it is not so much the back and forth
blaming, because you are right about both side being corrupt. What is kind
of neglected is the news media not doing their job. They should be the
watchdogs and not have an agenda. Blame or no blame the Community
Reinvestment Act destroyed the economy. The private ownership of property
is the basis of our country. Freedom and free markets give us our stength.
Every president has some chicanery in his time slot. Some good, some bad.

I agree about the last 20 years. Some dishonesty, some incompetence, and a
lot of corruption.

My usage is a bit different than the world's usage minus the USA.
Its exactly the same - you are excluding from your sample a group that
will specifically be detrimental to proving that your viewpoint is correct.

Happy because they are ignorant and don't know any better.
They think constantly rebooting, virus problems and so forth are
normal.
It's like a guy who has been wearing $99.00 suits all his life
and is happy.
Put him in a $1000.00 suit and he will be happier.
I bought my first computer in 1984, so I think I know what I'm talking
about.

My computer does not constantly reboot and I don't have virus problem.

And most important, the programs I use don't exist in Linux, and the low
end equivalent that I've tried under Linux are nightmares to install and
don't do half the job.

I use SOFTWARES to get some work done, I don't play with OSs.

If I change platform one day, I will go MAC because that platform also has
professionnal softwares that do the job, but I don't think it will happen;
to expensive and why fix it when it's not broken?
