Democrats control congress and have since 2007. Only democrats can stop

Wrong.

Are you so ignorant that you've not heard of a filibuster?

Linux just does everything I need[...]
Your needs must be very rudimentary.
That's true of a lot of people actually.

Although what's still unaddressed is just what am I supposed to be
missing exactly? I've got copies of Windows 7 and Snow Leopard and no
interest in running either one of them. Linux simply does not look bad
next to them (despite all the lies to the contrary).
Isn't it amazing how, when you ask these WinTrolls what exactly Windows
does that Linux doesn't, they only come up with snide nothing? Just
Microsoft FUD, they don't even know why they are parroting it anymore.

R

You and your butt-buddy lying linturd FUD spreading assholes are the
real sterling examples of TROLLS!
Yeah, you're really "stable" there, "Frank."

And, BTW, adios.

I agree Linux is growing in the backroom but not on the desktop,
advocates have been saying this is the Year of Desktop Linux,
What users have been saying this? The imaginary ones in your head?

Pretty sure they don't think with a single mind.
No, they do not... nor do they work together well.

He probably can't given the mess he inherited and the republicans desire
to see the country collapse rather than work with a democrat.
Sure the Republicans are playing politics, and so is Obama and the
Democrats. And that's what it always comes down to. But in the end, the
big corporations get what they want, no matter who is in power. Take
Health "Reform" (please take it). I was in favor of health reform, not a
program forcing Americans to buy health insurance that did nothing to
lower costs. And since health "reform" was Obama's main "accomplishment"
he and the Democrats deserve to stand or fall on it, especially the way
the shoved it through as "reconciliation"

As much as Microsoft bugs me, they are far from inconsequential, even
ignoring Windows (and MS Office and the "apps" that can be written with
it).
Which is why I wrote "becoming" inconsequential. You'll have to admit
their "big events" are not nearly as big as they used to be.

R

RonB

That was sarcasm.
I understood that -- just making my point that it doesn't matter who is
there. Both Republicans and Democrats are crooked sell-outs.

The dems had 60 votes. How could a filibuster stop them?
They only had 60 votes for a short time. And the Republicans used
blocks and secret blocks to bring the Senate to a halt. The crazy
Senate rules allow a single senator to block a vote (even a vote for
cloture) without having to identify himself.

A year and a half is a short time? They could have passed anything they
wanted. Their legislation was blocked or delayed by fellow democrats!
The kings of filibuster were the democrats during 6 of the Bush years.

Unfortunately, that is true. I'm just hoping we get some true statesmen
(women) in the ranks sometime soon.
