After installing elementary test service on laptop ux31e (win7 family) homegroup member (sc-pc) removed it with permutations of
regedit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\xsrv failure=>sys\msizap T srv.exe
On next connexion to desktop HomeGroup server (generic i7-2600k win7 pro=ad-pc) started recieving errors where sc-pc was visible
but even said itself during win7 diagnostics (all kinds) that it "wasn't responding" "wasn't sharing" etc.
Errors listed below (excuse my French!!) :
eventvwr.msc = eventlogs showing lanmanserver error 7001
Le service Explorateur d’ordinateurs dépend du service Serveur qui n’a pas pu démarrer en raison de l’erreur :
Le service de dépendance n’existe pas ou a été marqué pour suppression.
win7 net start LanmanServer
error="1075"
"Could not start the Net Logon service on Local Computer. Error 1075: The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion."

Regedit.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/Netlogon/
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc962287.aspx
to get list of running services :
tasklist /SVC > tasklist_svc.lst
output :
Nom de l'image PID Services
