Windows 7:

I have my icons pinned to my taskbar. Each icon con contain a list of
pinned locations. Where in the Registry do the pinned locations items
reside? I would like to change the order with out removing and re-inserting
them. Thanks.\

Just drag them to where you want them.

How about that. I never knew you could drag those. Thanks so much.

I only discovered it by accident. I minimise/maximise windows by
clicking the task bar icon and occasionally I'd move the mouse with the
button pressed and two of them swapped position :)
I figured that's what must've happened. :)

I did about the same thing. I was "fishing" around just for the
"halibut" and decided to try dragging and dropping one of these
taskbar icons, and it worked! You can move them either direction and
put them between other icons as you choose. Gordon

Well the sad thing is that I do the same and I always reorder my favorites
the same way. I should have known it would work on the Jump List. Duh!
Thanks again

Same here, guess I never tried.

One of my niggling complaints about Windows 7 has always been that you
can't reorder taskbar icons of the same type. If you have multiple
Windows Explorer instances running, or multiple browser instances
running, etc., dragging one icon drags them all as a group.

Nor me. I've been mildly annoyed recently by another icon splitting the
3 disk icons from Sentinel. Didn't realise it could be moved just like
that!

Looks like you were just floundering around the taskbar.

FWIW, you can reorder icons in the Notification Area (System Tray) the
same way. AFAICT, the new arrangement sticks.
