I have an old desk-top running Windows 7. This PC only has an Ethernet connection. Recently I have been unable at access the Internet. I am told:

Home Group is not available as you are not connected to the Home Group

When I access Network and Sharing Centre I see the word "Identifying " and attempts being made to do so.

I have tried the obvious Change your Network Settings but to no avail.

My Wireless Internet is fine with a speed of 51 ( iPad and Kindle Fire HD) so it's something on my PC. I was thinking of upgrading it but it has been so good I don't want to give up without a fight. :)

Any help you can offer..........My thanks in advance.

Well I hadn't realised posting my "problem" would mean it was solved so quickly!!

I decided to check my Start up programmes (msconfig) and then for some reason SERVICES. Most of the latter seemed to be disabled so I enabled them all and restarted my PC.

I am back on Home Group and can access the internet via Ethernet.

Don/t know why this should have happened! I'm glad to have found this group anyway!!
