My hard disk has used up 290 GB of space out of the total of 297 GB. The largest occupier is Windows folder which consumed a staggering 237 GB. The Disk Cleanup/Defragmenter has been able to release only 3 GB.
Is there any way to partly delete/compress this Windows folder?

You can try a free-ware product like CCleaner to see if it can find more files to delete but I don't know how much it will help. And there are likely hidden system folders that contain restore points & maybe even system backups that you could delete if you have them.
