Can I now remove the Windows.old file of 136 GB.

Hi all,
After reinstalling Win 7 64 bit home around 6 weeks ago, and
all is reinstalled and running ok
I see there is a Windows.old file of 136 GB.
Can I now remove it?

Only if you're sure you'll never want to restore your previous version
or retrieve any old data from it.

Start >Help and Support > enter ' disk cleanup ' into the search box.
After opening Disk Cleanup the Windows.old file should be listed as
one of the delete options.

You can also right click on the drive in Explorer, select Properties,
and click on the Disk Cleanup button under the General tab.

Or click the start button, type cleanmgr and press Enter. :)

Do you know, I've never noticed that button before.
Before posting a reply to the OP I checked the properties and looked at
the Tools tab, completely bypassing the obvious button staring me in the face. Doh!

Thank you both for replying.

I did the disc cleanup, but it did not remove the windows.old file
I made a restore point then deleted it
Re booted all seemed ok so I def raged the drive.

All appears ok,

It seems like it should be under the Tools tab, doesn't it?
