Windows 7 Upgrade to Windows 10 Fails with Crash

Hello, I wanted to upgrade my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 10. However, after completing the upgrade process, it displays a crash screen and reverts back to Windows 7. The crash screen states, "Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart." How can I fix this issue?
