Windows 7 AppData folder and Firefox

My download folder in Firefox is set to c:\Users\lewis\Downloads\ and
most of the time, this is where downloaded files are placed. However, if
I download a .nzb file, it gets placed in the AppData\temp\ folder,
which means that sabnzbd, which is set to scan the download folder,
doesn't.

I have no idea what settings to look for or change.

In Firefox, I suppose you could go to Tools, Options, Applications,
type nzb into the search box, and when the NZB item is found, change
its action to Always Ask or perhaps to Save File, depending on what
your current settings are. Play around there and you should find a
setting that works for you.

Interesting. It was set to "use other" which pointed at the sabnzbd exe
file. It is now set to 'save file', which puts it in the download
folder. Odd that it wasn't able to open the file, but the AppData folder
is pretty weird in Windows 7.

Cool, I'm glad you found the issue and were able to correct it. Does
sabnzbd do something with nzb's that it has processed, like move them
to another folder or delete them, once it is finished with them, or
does it just internally remember that they've been processed?

Under OS X it moves then to a process folder (Old_nzbs or somesuch). Not
sure yet what it does with them in Windows, but either moves them
somewhere, or it deletes them.

Excellent, same options that Newsleecher offers then. Thanks.

There are many add-ons for FF to controll/speedup downloading.

I like DownThemAll but do your own searching using
FF -> Tools -> Add-ons -> Get Add-ons

DownThemAll add-on gives a window for each d/l to accept default location or
choose a new one.
But why would I want that? I have a download location set, it is just
that Windows 7 was overriding it.
Also this is the first result on a Google search on: sabnzbd Firefox
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nzbdstatus/
Yes, I am quite familiar with that. Again, it wasn't the question I
asked. NB: .nzb was an EXAMPLE of a file where this happens. It happens
with other files as well.
