SOLVED Windows 7 and no sound

I upgraded my HP Vista to Windows 7. Even though my computer tells me that I have sound, I am unable to make my speakers work.

How do I get my speakers to emit sound after upgrading my windows Vista to windows 7? Everything indicates that the speakers are working, but there is no sound.

So you did an upgrade install instead of a clean install? You may find that you'll have problems later with that type of install.
