windows 7 acer laptop, after full reset, unable access internet

I did a full reset using recovery at boot, now i can not seem to get to most of the internet.

I have very limited internet access, i can get to google and yahoo, but the site does not display right, lots of stuff missing on the page. I believe it might have to do with the date/time/timezone.

I am in florida, but when i choose est, it does not give me the correct time.

its windows 7 home premium.

any idea?

I got the answer from another forum, the internet access was because ie is old, i download opera and all was fine.
the other was the internet connection, there were windows updates that needed to be install for win7 to fully function as before.
there is a site that you can DL all the win7 updates.
