I recently upgraded from XP and liked the software used in XP for uploading photos. I'd like to get a similar software fro 7 (free if possible). The previous software had the options to select where to store the photos, create a new folder if needed, select which photos on the card to upload and erase the photos from the card when finished. Any ideas?

Depending on your particular camera, you should need no xtra software, other than stated by Nibiru. But it has limitations. It is possible to use Paint, though,
I plug either of my (digital) cameras into the usb port, and, using windows explorer, move them all onto the computer. I then manipulate the pictures with Ashampoo Commander (which you must purchase), A very versatile program, and free, is Irfan view. If you are interested, You can fetch it here:

Later. I had a browse and founf this for Ashampoo. It is an older version but with full facilities.

Later: I forgot one totally. In the Windows live suite (Free) there is an excellent product. "Photo gallery". It covers most requirements
