I upgraded from Vista and Windows Mail is now a thing of the past but
Microsoft has left me with the Windows Mail diectory with a huge database.
I now use Oulook. What can I safely do to clear out the remnants.
Thanks
Richard

If you want the mail then you can import it in to Outlook then delete them.

I have the mail imported into outlook but when I go to the
c:\users\Richard\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail I can't delete the
message store or the backup directory as it is in use. I notice both are
still being updated somehow.

Found the answer. Ran up Windows 7 Manager and found that Windows Mail was
running as a task. Killed it and was then able to rename both Windows Mail
directories (Program and data). No adverse effects.
