Re Word Annoyance ... saga closed

OK ... we have decided that while we will continue to try and solve
this problem, we are going to save up for a new printer, and hence new
software suited to 64bit windows.

Hooked printer up to a friend's 32 bit Win7 Ultimate (slight
difference in OS, but that is all we had). Everything worked perfectly
....sigh .. so we have decided that it is a combination of 8 year old
printer, made for 32bit environment, being arm restled for 64 bit and
Wordpad not liking something somewhere.

Many thanks to all that made suggestions, and apologies for starting a
new thread (the original seems to have diverged off in different
paths).

Now , back to lurk mode, and saving for a new printer ... :)

Watch the Sunday ads! I just bought a Brother laser for 60 that goes
for twice that. Fine for most (non-color) printing.

Normally I would suggest replying in the original thread, but there are
exceptions :)

Although the thread is only at 99 replies as I type this...

What you could do, though, is to tell people where to find that thread
by presenting a link to your original post, copied from the headers.
