No Sound from My Speakers - Need Help

I recently bought new speakers, but I'm still not getting any sound. What steps should I take to resolve this issue?

Did you have old speakers that were working? Are you using the same sound card? If the old speakers work but the new ones do not then first start with the connection: how are your speakers connected (1/8" stereo plug, USB, Bluetooth)? If it is a plug make sure it is in the correct jack (not Mic or Line In for example). If it is USB then install the drivers for the new speakers (it is even possible there are no Windows 7 drivers available as newer hardware suppliers rarely write drivers for older OS's). And if Bluetooth then you will need to establish the Bluetooth connection to the new speakers.
