Need to create bad sectors

Dear All,

I would really appreciate it if someone has a clue on how to create bad sectors on a SSD USB drive. The purpose is for testing some new firmware on a custom made device which writes data to a USB drive - I need to simulate a certain failure mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not think you can, to be honest, its 13 bites fail per sector and marked by the system. If this was easy I feel be open to loads of abuse for getting hardware swapped under warranty, just my opinion as I know I would

That said I am sure somewhere I have read before there is some code in public domain that can be run and will create bad sectors - be it on anyone head trying this thou
