Internet only works in Safe Mode

Hey guys,

So, the problem's in the title, and I've done a bit of digging which led me to some of the threads on this site. Tried a couple of things, but I'm not so good with computers so was hoping someone could walk me through the process?

My first guess would be a Virus, malware or spyware of some sort, which are notorious for doing exactly what you're experiencing.

Create a CD/DVD/USB with this: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/what-is-windows-defender-offline
And scan!

Then install and scan with this FREE version:http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/

I would dump McAfee and use MSE....it's free.

Norton has been giving the same problem.
But I would guess that a virus is your last option. You have a program running at start, which is blocking the connection. If you have any third party firewalls, disable them (Norton?) and, for the test, temporarily suspend any antivirus programs.(Excepting MSE, I have not known that to cause such a problem)
