Hi Elffy - Welcome to w7forums

Which computer do you have?
Is the network adaptor onboard?

I assume your MB is an Asus as it is the only manufactures website that comes up with the Atheros L2 search?

If so http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?model=P5GC-MX/1333&product=1&type=drivers&SLanguage=en-us gives you a list of all current drivers for an Asus MB.

Remember that most Vista drivers will work on 7.

If you have a driver cd for your PC I would start by running that if you can.

As for the modem... looks like you are not going to have much luck. It may be a good idea to use a different modem if you have one available.

Works with Vista 32 bit though… might be worth a try?

First post
I'm using 64 bit windows 7
Second post
I am using 32-bit Windows 7
Which version are you using? Your post are not consistent.

I do have a question though. Do you have more than one "Local Area Connection" setup? You might have a connection setup that is not working correctly and conflicting with the one that is working correctly.

Check this location
"Control Panel >> All Control Panel Items >> Network and Sharing Center"
Look to the left side and click "Change adapter settings"

Make sure there is only one "Local Area Connection".
And that the "Local Area Connection" is not disabled.

I was running Windows XP before and had no problems with my internet connection and speed. My ISP is o2 and like I said no problems. Then I upgraded to Windows 7 32bit. I am now getting half the speed and my connection goes down on a regular basis. Ive been onto o2 who are really helpful but they suggested it was a wiring problem. BT charged me an arm and a leg to get the wiring changed but I'm still getting the same problems. I'm even using my Netgear router now instead of the Thompsons one from o2 but no change. I have to keep resetting my modem to get the connection back or reboot Windows and this is the part I can't understand....anyone got any ideas?

Thanks
