Hi I'm trying to update my geforce 8800 using nvidias latest drivers. My problem is that Windows 7 keeps reverting back to the old drivers. The setup runs smoothly but there is no reboot option and the device manager still show the old driver. I have been searching the web for an answer for quite some time now so if you have any idea please let me know.

Have you tried uninstalling the old Nvidia driver before installing the new one?

Well since I'm used to windows xp I went to the device manager to see the version of the driver. Apparently the device manager in windows 7 is not as detailed in the description of the driver as xp which made me believe that the new driver never installed. A quick look in the nvidia control panel twelve hours later solved the problem .DOH!
