Just loaded Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and configured two identical hard drives for RAID 1 using Intel Matrix Storage Manager (hardware RAID). As I operate in a location which occasionally experiences power failures, I am searching for an method for recovering from disk inconsistencies. With a single drive, chkdsk provided this method. But under RAID, I understand that running chkdsk is not recommended. Are other tools/methods available for recovering from inconsistencies from unexpected shutdowns?

OK. Additional web searches found a copy of Intel Matrix Storage Console that worked on my system and provided the needed functionality.

It is good to see a member search the web and find the solution they're looking for.

Whether the hard drive is in AHCI mode or RAID, the Intel Matrix Storage console is a necessity.
