Microsoft Security Essentials will not update.
I have used trouble shooter but it comes up with nothing.
Windows Update brings up error code: 8024000E and will show MSE & Defender programs in list, but update option not active
This is not the first time this has happened.
The first time was a few weeks ago and I downloaded MSE from the microsoft website manually, then it ran and updated.
This time I did that, but nothing works.
Other programs are failing to update at times, ie Glary Utilities started failing to update, so I deleted it.
I had tried using Glary utilities to delete my current MSE program, but it failed to remove it.
I went into Control Panel / Uninstall Program and had no luck either.
I am using Windows 7 Home Premium, Service Pack 1, 64bit OS.
I downloaded and tried to use the MSE Removal Tool and that failed too.
NB: I just tried to download Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool Setup Wizard and
it also failed immediately (Setup Wizard Ended Prematurely)
