Chameleon Engine Error

I received a "Chameleon Engine" error just before my ASUS computer screen went black (after I clicked OK). Now it will only work in Safe Mode which is of no help to me whatsoever. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any and all help would be appreciated. I've searched online already and have located threads years old that no longer work (the URLs for the "fix"). Thank you in advance.
