Can't print to a shared printer (that others can)

My windows 10 desktop is connected to a Brother HL-L2300D, and I have no problems accessing the printer on my laptop, but my wife gets the message "Server print spooler is not running" and she can't print. Again, I can, reliably. Her machine is a HP Compaq CQ57 running Windows 7. My laptop is running Linux Mint 18.2.
