Hi. I'm having problems with seemingly random BSODs, with no chance of reading them as it simply dumps the physical memory and restarts the computer.

I have attached a full DxDiag text file and RAR containing all minidump files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi.

Uninstall all motherboard utilities from ASUS. When done, go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\drivers and delete

AsIO.sys

Code:
AsIO AsIO.sys Mon Dec 17 04:11:49 2007
--------

Update your video card driver:

Code:
atikmpag atikmpag.sys Tue May 04 21:23:24 2010
Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM

----------

Remove Daemon Tools in the normal method. Then use the installer/uninstaller found here which if used right, will remove the notorious sptd.sys from the system:

DuplexSecure - Downloads

Install PowerISO if you still want drive emulation. Emulation part of it is free forever.

http://www.PowerISO.com

----------

Update your VIA audio driver:

Code:
viahduaa viahduaa.sys Thu May 07 23:24:59 2009
http://www.via.com.tw/en/support/drivers.jsp

----------

Update your NVIDIA chipset nForce drivers:

Code:
nvmf6264 nvmf6264.sys Thu Apr 30 15:45:59 2009
NVIDIA

---------

That should do it, enjoy. Post new crashes if need or tell us how it seems to be going.

I couldn't find any obvious ASUS utilities other than VIA Platform Device Manager and ASUS Xonar DS Audio Driver. Does the former count as a utility? And I'm assuming I will replace the audio driver with that VIA one.

Sorry, I'm always just very wary of deleting things I'm unfamiliar with.

No, those are drivers. You want to uninstall any utilities such as EasyTune or Energy Saver etc...

Then make sure that old problematic 2007 AsIO.sys driver is gone. If not, delete then reboot. Important to remove that one.

If you can't find what to uninstall, still delete the driver manually then reboot.

Ok, well apparently my video drivers are up to date according that annoying Catalyst software. I have no idea how to use SPTDinst to remove the Daemon stuff. Also, I don't know which VIA codec to download:
VIA Vinyl Envy24 Controllers MG/DT/GT/PT/HT-S
VIA HD Audio Codec VT1708B
VIA HD Audio Codec VT1702S
VIA HD Audio Codec VT1708S
VIA HD Audio Codec VT1705

Here's a couple of extra crash data files. The latest happened during the restart while installing the nvidia drivers.

Remove the Daemon Tools and sptd.sys as I posted for, above.

Look in your motherboard manual for which VIA Audio it has. It will have the info.

I already removed Daemon Tools through it's own uninstall utility and removed any traces of the toolbar. I also searched for that sptd.sys file and I can't find it anywhere.

Never mind. I removed sptd.sys manually and removed it from the registry as well, all manually. If there are any more traces of Daemon Tools then I don't know where to find them. VIA codec is also updated now (takes me a while to get all this stuff on my 512k connection; 40 mins for the nvidia drivers).

Sounds good. Now you're making good progress. Please keep us updated.

I would run Ccleaner to clean the registry in case you didn't delete the startup items for sptd.sys.

Thanks very much for the help, if nothing else goes wrong from here.

Seems it wasn't quite fixed :p

I'd like to mention I have been using a small program called Leatrix Latency Fix to reduce my ping with the WoW servers. I just remembered that the crashes started happening around the same time I installed that, even though the program worked properly.
