I need to get access to C:\Users\UserName\AppData\ but that folder is not visible on my system, although I have administrator privilegies.
I suppose there is a security setting that prevents me from seeing it. Any ideas?

Oh, it seems I have found it (got help elsewhere). You have to select "show hidden files", which you only can do from the root folder.

Actually there are other ways to get to "show hidden files", too. You can choose Organize>Folder and Search Options (in windows Explorer) or from the start menu you can choose Control Panel>Folder Options ... then it's under the view Tab

Also in windows Explorer, just because it isn't visible doesn't mean you can't get to it. If you type %appdata% (%'s are required) into the top left section that normally displays the path, it will take you directly to ...\AppData\Roaming
