WLM 2011

The answer is much simpler - and more embarrassing - than that. I
simply forgot to click the Sig icon before clicking Send.

And I almost always top-post. And I try to stay out of top/bottom
post arguments.

Let's try it on this one...
Nope, you still have the quoted portion included with the sig.

Not acceptable.

?Hi, Char.

Unless you're doing some manual manipulation, it appears to be
inserting the sig at the top of the post rather than the bottom where
it belongs, so I don't think I would say it does a fine job of that.

Above, you even say, "look at the bottom of this post", but your sig
didn't end up at the bottom of the post. It ended up at the bottom of
your contribution, but since you top posted, the rest of the post
falls below your sig. That's not proper client behavior.
Nope, still the same problem. The sig delimiter is way up near the
top, just after your most recent comments. If I hadn't done a manual
override, everything after your initials would have been snipped.

(I intentionally didn't snip anything in order to illustrate the
broken behavior of your client.)

I was very happy with WLM 2009. Thought it was great. So I thought that
2011 would be good too. However it is broken and a real mistake to
install
so yes I do hate 2011.

I am with you on that one, I installed this morning and so far I am not
too
happy with it.

They have totally messed up the news reader. One can't sort properly,
threads don't open automatically when the first message is opened.

The sorting is so bad that it should be labeled "shuffle" instead.

Just found another thing, a signature can't be added when replying.

In short, the previous version had some annoyances which this version
turned into complete bugs and added a few more.
Snatch a copy of the one you like from a friend's PC and add it to your PC.
I despise WLM so moved a copy of WM from my Vista PC to W-7 and it works
fine.

Yes, it adds sigs, but it's NOT at all fine. It seems to have included
all the previously quoted material as part of the sig... which means it
therefore gets eliminated from any subsequent follow-ups.

Geez, this program shows itself to be more and more broken the more I
look at it.
This thread is very interesting. Thanks to all who contributed. I shall NOT
be upgrading my WLM!

Hm, that could be considered a feature...
