Windows7 Firewall & OpenVPN

Don

I'd like to run an OpenVPN client on my Windows7(Premium) laptop and
connect to a remote server out there on the Internet. That way my
surfing, email, etc. would be secure when using an Internet hotspot at a
coffee shop or airport. Has anyone had any experience and success with
configuring the Windows Firewall to allow the OpenVPN pass-through If
so, would you share that information?

Thank you

Your VPN solution is a client trying to make contact with server. Your
VPN program is soliciting inbound traffic from the server. Therefore,
the FW is going to let solicited inbound traffic through the FW on a
port and traffic from the server will not be blocked.

Works fine for me, thought I do have to run the openVPN gui as
administrator ...
