Microsoft Windows 8 Rocked the World

Microsoft has again rocked the world of computers by announcing the release of its new Microsoft Windows 8. Windows 7 has done an extremely good performance but Microsoft is continuously giving the users more reasons to be awed. There are a lot of new features in this new Microsoft Windows 8 and all the best features in Windows 7 are better in this new operating system. The company has released the Developer Preview which can be downloaded for free. Expectant users can now feel the new operating system even if the beta has not yet been released.

Microsoft Windows 8 is the first operating system from the company that can be used on both ARM-based tablets and x86 PC-based on ARM processors. Although Microsoft is slanting towards the “touch” technology, the company has started to lead the path towards a unified operating system for desktop, laptop, tablet and other touch slates with its Microsoft Windows 8.

With the future Microsoft Windows 8, users can now multitask by just swiping the applications across the left bezel. The new user interface is a facelift from the other systems of the company. Just like the Windows Phone 7, the new operating system has colorful tiles on the start screen. The new interface is a redesign using a Metro-style design and users can easily drag and drop new applications on the screen. This gives functionality and simplicity at the same time. The logon screen is also a new addition to the system because users can logon by just tapping the right areas of the screen instead of entering the password. This new Microsoft operating system also comes with a redesigned task manager.

Another useful feature of the Microsoft Windows 8 is the Windows to Go feature. This feature allows the operating system to boot from USB device. This gives the users a flexible and portable system since they can access programs, files and other settings as long as the device, called Live USB, is plugged in USB ports in any Windows 7 or 8 capable computers. The user accounts are also not local as long as they are linked up to a Windows Live ID. One good thing about this Windows to Go is that the screen will freeze if the USB device is removed and will run again once the device is plugged.

Microsoft Windows 8 also comes with a full-fledged anti-malware with the improved Windows Defender. All types of malware will be detected real-time such as Trojans, virus, worms and rootkits.

The new Internet Explorer 10 is also optimized for touch devices. IE 10 is now in Metro version but preview does not support plug-ins yet, although the beta will surely support plug-ins. IE 10 offers some security options for web applications.

Minimum requirements for Microsoft Windows 8 to run are 1 Ghz or faster 32-bit or 64-bit processor, 16 GB hard disk space for 32-bit or 20 GB for 64-bit devices, and 1 GB RAM for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit processor. When these requirements are met, Windows 8 will run smoothly.
