i used a friends windows 7 ultimite disk to upgrade my HP DV5 from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 and i just noticed that my computer properties says it is a 32 bit version. is there anyway to get w7 64 bit on my computer? is it an option when installing windows 7? any help would be appreciated because i would like to use all 4 gigs of the ram in my computer and would like to upgrade them to 8 gigs in the future.

I ordered my Windows 7 Home Premium from Amazon.ca and although there was only one box, the spindle had 2 DVD's on it, one for the 32 bit and the other for the 64 bit and I would expect that purchasing W7 separate from your computer, you should get both versions in one package

The OEM version is the only ones that I am aware of that is shipped separate. The boxed versions come with both 32-Bit and 64-Bit.
