Windows 7, Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, etc...

What I thought would be a straightforward question, I can't seem to find on
Google.com anywhere...

Do the various versions of Windows 7 all have the same base? I.e. will a
driver that works on Professional work fine with Home Premium or Ultimate,
and vice-a-versa? I guess my question is regarding a laptop, if it works
with Home Premium, will it work just as well with Professional? I remember
having some minor issues in the past regarding the differences between XP
Pro and XP Home.

Yes.

Yes. But note that the drivers for 32-bit versions and the drivers for
64-bit versions *are* different, and you have to have the correct one
for your version of Windows.

Yes, the kernel is the same base, and the drivers will work with all
versions. The only dependence on whether the kernel is 32-bit or 64-bit.

There can be problems with improperly written or adapted older drivers.
The dependency is usually related to Win 32 and memory. Occasionally, a
win 64 P/C with lots of memory is involved.
