Just started being like it the other day, taking about 2 hours till my home screen is actually loaded after login, and then it is fine and can go on the internet and do anything and it wont freeze. Its just the startup, wont load in safe mode at all just freezes on the drivers list. Tried a system restore, made no change to the problem. Tried typing sfc scan now in the cmd box but it stopped scanning at 12%. Tried disabling programmes on the start up list but no change.

When Windows thinks the OS is not a genuine copy then the boot takes longer & longer & the desktop background is all black. Is your desktop all black?
