Trying to upgrade to Win 10 with a usb problem

I tried to upgrade my Win 7 to Win 10 using a Win 10 USB install file. All went smoothly and looked as if the installation was nearly finished, until it wanted to reboot the pc. Did so but just hung. I removed the USB but nothing happened. I have done this before using a DVD Win 10 and had no problems, but this laptop does not have a working DVD drive. . Any help?
