SOLVED Stuck at Logging off...

When I last shut down my Windows 7 notebook it sat at the "Logging off..." state with the circular indicator spinning. I used the power button to shut down but when restarting it opens in that state.

I tried using the four-disc recovery set I made on day one. It's labeled "Factory-State OS Recovery." The DVD drive cycles when I restart but the screen continues at "Logging off..."

Suggestions?

Solved by removing battery and killing it. Restarted fine after the B&W "Resume Windows Normally" screen.
