Heh,

I've recently updated my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. Now I want to connected to a server with SSH using putty.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work: "unable to connecto to... Host does not exist". I tried to connect with the Windows-telnet application
and got a reply from the server. I've already tried to deactivate the firewall, but I didn't have success.

Do you have any idea how I can use putty to connect to a server with SSH under Windows 7?

Kind regards,

It should just work, did you make sure you get a ping reply using the command prompt? Also the server may have the telnet service enabled and not SSH. Did you try to connect with another SSH client yet?

Hi,

thanks for your answer. I finally managed to get a connection. Originally,
I used a IP address with the format xxx.0xx.xxx.xxx. If I omit the 0, it
works...

Thanks, again
