Hi All,

I know this has probably been asked many times before but....

Purchased a Win 7 PRO Upgrade 32 Bit ISO/DVD some time back to upgrade my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7. Would now like to move to a 64Bit OS? Noticed that there isn't any WIN 7 PRO Upgrade ISO's out there to download.

Will the normal WIN 7 PRO 64Bit ISO be suitable?

Cheers....

There is no difference in the ISO between the full version and an upgrade, the only issue is how it validates things based on your product key. You will need your product key and it is important you get that before you reformat your hard drive. You should also make sure your hardware is 64-bit capable as many tablets & notebooks can only run 32-bit.

Back up all your data (consider using Windows Easy Transfer which is built in to W7) to an external drive then reformat.

With an upgrade product key you will need to perform a double install. You install the W7 once but do not activate, then you run the installation again and use your upgrade key to activate.

Install all your programs and restore your data.

As with any upgrade key you are still bound to the licensing agreement in that you must also own a legal license for XP or Vista for that computer.
