I was having BSOD's and thought i had it fixed. Reinstalled the driver that it said was bad then a few days later did it again. This has been an on/off problen for 3+ weeks now. So since i was having BSOD problems and my laptop was getting very slugish, i decided to re-install windows for a fresh start (2 days ago) and hope the problem would be resolved by doing so, till today.

I could go buy a new laptop but i have always used them till there is no hope left. :)

My laptop is a Compaq Presario C751NR
RAM updated to 2 GB (max)
100GB HD (90% of files are stored on an External HD)
Windows 7 Ultimate x86

Need help because i am stumped at this point.

Hi,

I would start with updating the BIOS. Then look at the chipset drivers.

But that mini dump seems to point to athr.sys, Atheros wireless driver.

Hope this helps.

I'll check on the BIOS and chipset's next. finally got the athr.sys updated manually. went from 2.0 to 10.0 version and so far so good. Don't know why microsoft has to make it so difficult but i guess it they did do that we would have nothing to do. lol Thanks for the help.
