Folder Options

When I open my Storage Drive, my folders used to be listed alphabetically followed by files saved directly to that Drive (not in a folder). Now, I see folders with headings A-H (72) followed by directly-saved files alphabetically listed A-H: then folders I-P (62) again followed by directly-saved files alphabetically listed I-P; finishing up with folders Q-Z (66) again followed by directly-saved files alphabetically listed Q-Z. How can I eliminate these Alphabetic header sections and return to All folders alphabetically listed followed by directly-saved files? Did I somehow create this 3-header display inadvertently by an indexing attempt?
