Guys I have been reading a little bit on the EVGA forums lately getting prepared for my GTS 450. While I was reading, I came across this nice little utility. This utility will download all the clients when you first run it. I'm currently using it and like it very much. I figured I would only fold with the GPU for a day or so but with this utility, I was able to tell exactly what my PPD would be within an hour. Even if you are only folding with one client this utility is well worth the download in my opinion. :)

FAH GPU Tracker V2 and Setup Guide

FAH GPU Tracker V2 is a Folding@Home client tracking and control program that I created to make folding easier.

Features:
  • Controls up to 9 clients (CPU or SMP, up to 8 GPUs)
  • Tracks detailed stats for every client and every name/team combo
  • Tracks WU failures by project number for each client
  • Saves the logs of failed WUs
  • Can automatically reconfigure user information from an XML file
  • Gaming Pause feature to pause clients while gaming
  • Automatically updating projects list (pulled from psummary)
  • Hides all client windows to prevent taskbar clutter
  • Can be minimized to system tray
  • Automatic update support
  • Heat Control setting to throttle GPUs based on the current WU
  • Allows switching between the GPU2 and GPU3 clients (per-GPU)
  • Can export an XML file with the current status of the Tracker
  • Can upload the XML status file to an FTP server
  • Downloads the FAH clients from Stanford on first run
  • PPD monitoring of all clients including bonus points for SMP A3

Not yet c_c. I haven't seen the need yet.

I am not currently folding a GPU client, but that may change by the end of today.:)

For the past couple of weeks I've been running 1 SMP 2 client and occasionally a Fahcore client.

The Tracker V2 has all the clients integrated into one package.

However there is no way to run more than one single core client with Tracker V2 alone.

Okay, I think I got it.
I didn't set it up properly in the beginning because I was anxious.

But now I'm folding with my new (thanks my wife) GTS 450!

All the temps seem okay with a little air flow and case manipulation. I'm even oc'ing the cpu a little. Have been for a week without problems. Fingers are crossed to get through the first night trouble free.

We'll get closer, as long as my newly found success holds out. I'm going to try these things that you, yodap & Full_Taoer suggested. Right now, my CPU is at 6% usage, while my GPU is at 85%. I don't want that number to raise, as I don't want to floorboard it. On the other hand, I don't want to run my CPU at 100% either, I need it to last.

That CPU can be put to use, I had another idea, running the CPU client within a VM, but I believe that the suggestions brought out would be better. As soon as this second job completes, I'll see what I can do.

This program looks like it would be good for me, too.
