When I try to install Windows 7 from DVD (burned from an ISO with the correct checksum), I get an "Error 5" during the initial install procedure.

Can anyone offer advice on how to solve this issue?

Many thanks,

Most install errors appear to be from a "bad" DVD burn. Try again to burn the iso again or use an alternate iso burning program.

Some people from other forums are saying that one needs to set processor with its stock speed to get rid of that error. Try it if you are overclocking. Else burn the ISO with another program.

Thanks to both of you!

I re-download the ISO yesterday to see if that works, and I will burn it today on another PC. I did overclock my CPU a little, but it has never caused a problem before. I guess it can't do any harm setting it to normal when I try it.

Will report back once I have given it another go.
