Device Manager - Not Responding

Gary Dingle

I ran device manager with view mode set to "by devices" and it was OK.
Then changed view mode to "by resources" and selected an item relating
to the onboard video display, and right clicked/properties.
I clicked on a tab or 2, but clicking on one of them, got the "not
responding" message.
had to kill the device manager.
Now, starting up Device Manager, it obviously goes to the
tab/item/properties that was last selected and just gives the "not
responding" message.

I'd like to run the device manager from the command line, giving
arguments on the command line to select the "by devices" view, which
will hopefully get out of the not responding bit.
Is this possible.
Hope someone knows :)
Cheers
Gary

Fixed the problem.
Booted to safe mode & ran Device Man. which was OK, then rebooted to
normal user & all OK.

Have you rebooted then reopened device manager?
If so, and it still does the same thing, go to Start, Run, type in
devmgmt.msc and press enter. Does it come up in the default view then?

Open control panel, right click on device manager, and create shortcut
on your desktop... Just did it as a test....
