connecting inkjet printer to laptop

Hi, I'm trying to connect my epson stylus r240 to my laptop. I've connected the usb cable but it is not showing anything.

Hi Paula, welcome to the forums.

Once you've connected the printer via USB (and given your PC a minute or two), can you try going to Start > Devices and Printers and see if your printer shows up there? Is this the first time it has been connected, or has it worked up until now?

It should install the drivers automatically for this printer once it has been detected, but you can try manually installing the drivers if you'd like:

You'll need to choose Windows 7 32 or 64 bit depending on your operating system version (you can check that by reading this link).
