AVG Anti-Virus will not update definitions

Hi everyone,

I'm running Windows 7 Beta and whenever I try to update my AVG definitions it goes to the red exclamation point on the AVG tray icon and a message comes up saying 'general error'.

Anyone know how to get my AVG updated on Windows 7 ?

I've had a search of the net, and some people have had sucess by going to Tools -> Advanced Settings -> Update and unchecking the box that says “Use DNS update”.

Try that and then see if you can update

Mine works fine so far... Just no sound, but that is another thread!

Try reinstalling it. That should work.

u should clear ur crashed temporary update files by clicking the botton which is in Tools>Advanced Setting>Update>Mange>Delete temporary update files

owooewp, this thread is over two years old, if they haven't solved their problem then they got a new AV
