For those of you who have upgraded to Firefox 12...
You may have noticed that when you do a search in the Google Firefox homepage that the next page that appears is showing an AVG Secure Search logo in the upper left corner and such.
This is damned annoying and after about a 20 minute search I finally found a fix for it. Remember that EVEN IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL AVG or any of it's toolbar components, this 'secure search' junk still shows up.
Here's the fix; copy this URL with the "https" prefix: https://www.google.com/webhp?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 then go to that URL. Make it your home page and now no more issues when do a search from this home page.
I hope this helps!
