2nd SATA HD / SATA Controller Card

HP workstation xw6200 Motherboard: hp 08B8h 2nd SATA hard drive connection / SATA Controller Card

Having made the choice to install a SATA Controller Card I wish to know which card to choose.
I have 4 available PCI Slots (#26) and 1 PCI Express x8 prime (#25) available.
Both PCI and PCI Express SATA Controller Cards are available.
Which would you recommend?

Normally the PCI-Express would be used for a better graphics card. Do you always plan to just use on-board video?

EDIT: Nevermind, you aren't talking about the PCI-e x16 (#27).

I guess I would compare the specs of the two cards and choose whichever is meant to run fastest.

I don't understand the question. You are asking to install a 2nd SATA drive and your motherboard has 2 SATA connections. Why not use the 2nd (# 19)?
