Windows Defender Offline

My Microsfot Security Essentials keeps telling me I have a TrojanOS/Alureon.A and to download Windows Defender Offlline. I did that and rebooted like the directions stated, it ran the scan and then when I restarted I still get the same message saying I still have the virus. My husband wants to wipe my hard drive clean and reinstall everything and we are fighting about that. Could someone please hel p me. Thank you. Lynda

Try running Malwarebytes and Kaspersky TDDSkiller in safe mode before doing anything drastic.
