Windows 7 fails to back up completely

Using a Seagate 500 GB external hard drive, I started to back up my laptop using Windows 7. After about 80% backing up, there was a message saying failed to back up. I have done it a few times still same thing and also used another external hard drive and same results with that. What am I doing wrong?

It's a common problem. W7 normally updates the existing backup in "data blocks"; try deleting the old backup so it starts fresh.

A better choice might be to consider a different product; maybe even Image your entire drive with Acronis or Seagate Diskwizard, or if you don't qualify for those then try Macrium Reflect Free (See our Freeware DB for links to these products)..
