Daretokill, if you want that other picture as your background, just open the link in your browser, right-click, and choose Set as Background.

Hi reaper (Obecuviton),thank you for sharing your desktop and welcome to the Forums.

Why, thankyou Sir!
Its the SpeedFan Meter.gadget, originally d'loaded from The Hobby Lounge but that only seems to give (me) a dead link nowadays.
In case anyone is interested, and to save all the finger work of a Goggle search, I've attached a zipped copy.

The colored clock appears to be a gadget of the actual clock in the background but showing the current time. :top:

Why are all the second-floor windows covered up on the building on the left corner and tarped over on the second building on the right? Too many people throwing rocks?

I don't know... I think this was before they made the Citroen "Gallery" there...
Any guess about the street? It's one of the most important of Paris.

It's a view from the Arc De Triomphe at the Place de l'Étoile.

Now where is my cookie? Preferably chocolate chip, not browser :p

Strange - What you said is nearly the exact copy of Wikipedia... Strange.

Oh right. This gave it away:
It's one of the most important of Paris.
About that cookie - just get off the computer and buy yourself one :D

Actually I did a search for Paris streets and Charles De Gaulle and in my head I thought maybe it ran to the Eiffel tower but the search brought up Arc De Triomphe and when I looked at the photos I saw very similar shaped buildings. What can I say, I'm a good searcher. YOU OWE ME A COOKIE!

Not anymore :D Geez, you can live without a cookie.

Ok, I'll admit you are a good searcher.

Edit: I felt bad for you so:
