Hello everyone,
I have a Dell Inspiron 15z 5523, bought brand new back in '13. I updated to W10 last year, but I wanted to go back to W7 due to compatibility issues with some software. I have a bootable USB drive with W7, and during the installation process, when it gets to the point of selecting the drive where the OS will be installed into, the list appears empty. My laptop has a SSD drive and a HDD drive, in a RAID.
I once tried to install Ubuntu and I had the same issue with the list. I looked for information that time, and read something that Ubuntu could not be installed in machines with that drive configuration.
I have also been told that I should change the BIOS from UEFI to legacy, it seems that UEFI does not allow to install from a USB drive.
Can anyone shed some light on this?
