User Question

Haven't done this before. Setting up a spare machine for my Grandsons.
They will have a limited account and I will keep my administers account.

I will keep mostly utilities and security programs. I noticed some
shortcuts I don't want them to have.

Can I go into Users and delete them there or is there a better way ?

Thanks

You could also just delete them off the desktop without digging
through the files--just log on to their account and shortcuts you want
to get rid of, right click and delete.

While logged in to the admin account, navigate to the desktop of their
username. Delete shortcuts as you wish.

If that doesn't do it, nav to the desktop of Public or Other or Default
user, and drag their shortcuts to your Desktop.

You need to Log in as Administrator, navigate to Users > their
account(s) > Desktop, click on it, it will open in a window, you can
add/subtract whatever you want.

I would also use the Permission tabs on files and folders to control
access to their Desktop. Right click on the folder icon > Properties >
Security > Permissions > Edit, and Deny Write, then they can't add
anything to their Desktop. Etc.

That's about where I was thinking about. There are utilities I really
don't want them to touch, like the Samsung ssd Magician. If they want to
install something, their Mother can do it from my Admin account.

I am looking at them doing something by accident as they know better than
doing something stupid. Good kids.
