Ever since Tuesday's updates from MS (15 of them), my Outlook 2007 has been taking for ever to load. Not only taking longer loading up at when initially starting but the same thing happens when switching to different folders....ie sent, junk folders.

I'm not having any issues, but then I never use an email client for my email. I just use the browser since it's safer in the long run.

I hope that you're able to eventually iron out the problems you're having with Outlook 2007.

Maybe someone else here has a fix or answer for you.

I don't notice Outlook taking any longer to load but I do know update Tuesday contained an update to the SPAM blocker. I keep my inbox very empty (currently 3 items) so it wouldn't have much to check here.

I happy to hear this - now I know I'm not the only one! I would suggest we "hurry up and wait" and a new update will soon, hopefully, be released.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one with this problem....glad to know I'm not alone. Suggestion duly noted....LOL. Like we have a choice in the matter.

I hope that the issues that weren't broken gets "fixed" soon, so that the users of Outlook & Windows Live can get their mail in a timely manner.

As for me, I gave up on messing with the mail programs, like Nibiru, I just go to my mailboxes through the browser. A lot faster, and less haggle for me. I know what to open, and what to trash, the latter being everything that I didn't solicit to begin with.

I will say one thing I noticed. When I opened IE after the update it went through the first time set up for Internet Explorer 8.

I wish. More and likely they will say, "Oh no! Not him again?"

FWIW, I have reported this to my Lead and hopefully something will get done soon. It is frustrating.

I don't know that it didn't. Only some OL2007 users were affected so it is possible some 2010 were too, but we have just not heard of them yet.

I got mine fixed....Try this listed below or uninstall KB2412171. I did the below action.

First run Outlook as administrator, then open outlook, then tools, trust center, Add-ins, then click go at the bottom. A popup with all your add-ins should show. Disable/uncheck box that says "COM Addin for Microsorft Outlook Hotmail Connector", should be third one down the list. Now your back in business.

Help came from this forum.

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en/vistawu/thread/a4ec0d7f-86a5-437f-a7f9-2c2cfe0dda44

A number of users are reporting performance issues with Outlook 2007
after installing update 2412171. Possible symptoms include:
* Slow performance when changing folders, especially folders that
are in different message stores.
* Loss of Archive functionality
* Errors receiving mail on accounts that use Secure Password
Authentication (SPA)

*How Do I Fix it?*

At this time the only fix for it is to uninstall update 2412171, which
you can do in one of two ways:

1. Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs. In Windows 7 click "View
Installed Updates", find KB2412171 and uninstall it. In earlier
versions just make sure the "Show Updates" checkbox is checked and find
the update on the list. This is the best way to do it, as a general rule.

2. System Restore. If you can't remove the update individually, use
System Restore and restore back to the point before the update was
installed. See this article.

*Can I Help Solve It?*

The Outlook team is working hard to track down the cause of the issues
and it would be very helpful if you could provide a bit more
information. If you could reply in the forum thread, or e-mail me at
Email removed for privacy
<mailto:Email removed for privacy?subject=Outlook%202007%20and%202412171>
and post the following information it may help us track down the cause:
* Operating System you're using (Windows XP? Vista? Windows 7?)
* AntiVirus products you're using. (Norton? Microsoft Security
Essentials? NOD32?)
* How many and what kind of e-mail accounts you have. ("2 POP3
accounts with GMail" or "1 Exchange mailbox" or ?)
* Any 3rd party add-ins you have installed in Outlook. Xobni?
Other things?
* Do you have the Outlook Social Connector installed?

Thanks for your patience. Hopefully there will be a fix for this
problem soon!

Interesting. I don't have any boxes to check or uncheck and I made sure I was running as admin but going through Control Panel > Programs and Features > Installed Updates and uninstalling KB2412171 worked like a champ. Thanks for digging into this. A couple of my kids and grandkids came over so I was not using OL today enough to get that frustrated to dig deeper! ;)
